An Explanation and an Announcement!

Hello blog...I've missed you! Since becoming a single mom three weeks ago, I have no longer have any time. Being a single mom hasn't been too bad so far but it is EXTREMELY time consuming. I also had THREE newborn shoots last week...two of them took more than one day :-/ All I can say is school cannot come fast enough. Of course...it your yearly reminder in August that Christmas is right around the corner! I will have a very limited number of sessions this year because of scheduling issues (unless I get a dependable babysitter) and I will also be holding 3 mini-sessions. These are extremely popular and already filling up fast so if you want one, act quickly! Here are all of the details...just and FYI, I have had requests for the October 18th and the November 15th dates to be places where doggies can be included :)

Here are the dates for the holiday mini-shoots! They will be $50 for 20 minute sessions...maximum of 9 sessions per date so if you are interested, let me know ASAP! I already know that the one in November will fill up VERY fast!

Saturday, October 3rd
Sunday, October 18th
Sunday, November 15th

Times and locations will be determined at a later date once I know who is interested. I am requiring all sessions be paid in full (non-refundable but transferable) to secure your spot. Email me at kristin[at]kristinmizophoto[dot]com to secure your spot or if you have any questions :)

Happy New Year!!

Ok, I am officially back from my much needed vacation (if you can call it that!). As most of you know, I have an extremely stressful holiday season. It is a two week extravaganza and by the time it is done, I am in need of another vacation! It all starts with Natalie's birthday on December 19th. She wanted to go and eat dinner with the princesses so we all went and had a fun filled day at Epcot. Natalie had the time of her life and announced that it was the best day of her life. Here is a picture of the little princess...I can't believe my baby is 5!



December 21st marked Charlie and I's 6th wedding anniversary. I don't have any pictures to share of us together...I meant to have Dylan snap one of us, but I haven't done it yet :( We had a lovely dinner at the Wing House and watched the basketball game. Yep, that's how we roll :) We plan on actually celebrating sometime this spring down in South Beach!

In the Mizo household, we don't just have one Christmas...we have a Christmas week extravaganza! By the time Christmas dinner rolled around I was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open at the dinner table. Dylan and Natalie had a fabulous Christmas! Natalie got a new bike and Dylan got a basketball hoop.

We normally have a huge New Years Eve party but decided to bypass that this year. We then have Charlie's birthday on January 3rd and finally rounding out the craziness with Dylan's birthday on the 9th. Of course...one more little thing this week...the National Championship game!! Go Gators!!

A couple of announcements! Most of you will be receiving an email with all of this information but I thought I would put it here too!

1. It's finally done!!!!!! I am so excited to announce that my brand new website is DONE!! I seriously have had the template for almost a year now and just could not get motivated to finish it (I HATE going through my old images!). I buckled down this week and did it. 2. My prices are going up slightly in 2009. You can check out all of my new pricing on the website here. I also completely restructured my prints and products. I have some AMAZING new products to offer!! If you want the updated list, shoot me an email and I will send it to you. I will be honoring 2008 print prices for past photoshoots through January 31st if you are still waiting to buy prints. If they are not ordered by January 31st, the new prices will apply. So stop procrastinating and get those prints ordered!!

3. My hard drive is screaming at me! I am currently in the process of getting all of these photos off of my computer. I am making a firm deadline of January 31th. All sessions will be moved off of my computer by this date and I will charge a 20% additional charge to retrieve your prints. If you are currently doing a "grow with me package," this does not apply to you! Thank you for understanding that I cannot store your photos on my computer forever.

Mini-Session Update and a Hallelujah!

Ok first the boring stuff...if you aren't doing a mini-session or interested in a mini-session...skip down to the photos :) First, the session tonight is cancelled but the session on Saturday is filling up quickly. Ok...now onto the the good stuff :) This is Matt, Charlie's best friend. Ever since Charlie and I have been together, Matt has been the ultimate bachelor and badly influencing my husband. Can I get a hallelujah that Matt is FINALLY engaged and will not longer be leading the bachelor life. I just have to get through the bachelor party (and lord knows what these boys have cooked up) and then it is wedded bliss for Matt :) I LOVE Angela and I am so so happy for them! They were kind enough to trust me with their engagement pictures. I absolutely loved shooting them and had so many favorites...I'm sorry there are so many :/ I couldn't narrow them down. Anyway....here are some of my favorites...I have others too but I had to hold back!

I love this one because it wasn't posed at all...I just told them I was checking my settings but secretly I was shooting and this is what they did :)

I made Matt sit in the gutter for this one...he wasn't too happy about it :) heehee...it was payback for being a bad influence on Charlie ;)

Canvases in Action!

My client just sent this to me and I had to share. You all are probably getting sick of me talking about these darn canvases but seriously...take a look at them on the wall! Doesn't it make you want some??

New Mini-Session Dates Announced!!

Now that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel (as far as work goes), I can now announce the new dates for mini-sessions. I know that this is a little last minute, but if you can make it, great! If not...I will be offering these again...I just don't know if it will be on time for Mother's Day.

Are you looking for the PERFECT gift to give your mother for Mother's Day. I know every year I struggle to find something that my mom actually wants/needs. Something I know she ALWAYS loves and appreciates is pictures of her beautiful grandkids. If you don't have kids...what about pictures of you and your siblings as adults? Or maybe you just want some special pictures of you and your significant other. Come down to Park Avenue for a mini-session! The first date will be this Wednesday afternoon (April 9th) from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Each session will be 15 minutes long. I don't know if anyone will be able to make it for this one, so it might get cancelled. If you are interested in this date, please e-mail me ASAP so I can make let everyone know if it is a go or not. The second date will be this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Sessions will be $40.00 each for up to four people, $10.00/person after that. The exception to this rule is a family of five with three kids. E-mail me at kristinmizophoto@aol.com if you want to book your time!
