I'm in LOVE!!!

A couple of weeks ago...I rented a 50mm f1.2 L lens! Big mistake because now I am totally obsessed with the lens and I must own one ASAP! Unfortunately, it retails for about $1450 :( Anyway...while I had the lens, I took the opportunity to go out and shoot some updated pictures of my own kids for my mom and my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. Here are some of my favorites...did I mention how buttery and yummy this lens is? Feel free to donate to the cause :)

As usual, the kids were not cooperating, but I did manage to get some pictures that I love. Our mother's were thrilled with them so that's all that matters :) Grandma....you're getting one too! Happy Mother's Day!!

I even talked Charlie into getting in some...his mom really appreciated that!

He was a natural at getting the kids to look natural! I told him he was my new assistant!

This picture is so Dylan and Natalie! I love the way they play together!

This was an artistic shot for me...I wish the cars weren't behind them but I still like the way it turned out!
My favorite picture from the shoot!

I will blog more about the Grandparents project tomorrow.

Til next time~

MIA!

Ok...I know I have been MIA lately...sorry! This month has been insane! I have been out of town and shooting like crazy! I did slow down for one afternoon this weekend to spend a belated Mother's Day with my mom and my mother-in-law. We went and saw a FABULOUS movie!! I highly recommend it! It's called "Young at Heart" and it is a documentary about the oldest cover band. The average age of its' members is 86 and they cover old rock songs. It was poignant and hilarious. Go see it, you won't regret it :)

I think one of the reasons that I loved the movie so much is the fact that I have such a special place in my heart for my grandparents. I feel so lucky that I grew up with a special relationship with them. I was thinking of starting a project to photograph grandparents with their grand kids. Maybe I can publish a book eventually? :) Anyone want to volunteer?? Send me an e-mail if that is something that you might be interested in participating. Shoot me an e-mail if you are intersted.

I'm Off to D.C.

My best friend in the whole wide world is graduating from medical school tomorrow!!!! I am soo proud of her and honored to call her my best friend. We have been friends since second grade and our friendship has never faltered. She is just the one person in my life that I know will always be there for me no matter what. I would rather have one friend like her than many good friends and I feel so blessed to have her in my life! I love you Sarah!!!! Congratulations on such a huge accomplishment!!! On another note...it's kind of hard to believe that one of my friends is old enough to be graduating from med school....where the heck does time go?? LOL :)

Here is my beautiful best friend and her not so bad looking boyfriend who is also graduating tomorrow...he plans to be a neurosurgeon! Wish him luck!!

To all my clients...I will be working all weekend...thank you for your patience!

Girls Weekend!

Six years ago, I had a baby when NONE of my other friends had babies. I was all alone, facing the world of motherhood without any support or advice from other mothers. Luckily, I met Brooke who told me all about a Mommy and Me class at Arnold Palmer Hospital. There, I met the best group of mommies EVER!!! We quickly became very good friends and we did everything together. Our group evolved from mommy and me to mom's nights out and then a weekend away each year. This past weekend was our fifth year taking a weekend away! We had so much fun and came home more tired than we left ;P Here are a couple of pictures from the weekend!

Here's some of us the first night at dinner...some of you may recognize another mommy in the picture :)
Here's Nikki...poor thing broke her elbow snowboarding and had to wear a brace the entire time. Luckily for her, I think it got her a couple free drinks :)
Here's all six of us before dinner the second night...
And here we are at a surprisingly good Italian restaurant in Cocoa Beach...who knew there was a good restaurant there? And in the picture with us is the sweetest waiter ever, Rado!
Everyone who is waiting on a gallery, thank you for being patient...I am working hard to get caught up on everything!!
